For 20 years the people of Israel have been cruelly oppressed by Jabin, king of Canaan. This oppression was allowed because of Israel’s disobedience to God. This has been the cycle throughout the book of Judges… Since we live in a very peaceful area of the world, we don’t easily relate to this type of suffering. Imagine what it would be like to experience the horrors of oppression since 1993. Crops are stolen so people are hungry. Friends and family die in raids. Women and children are taken. Fear becomes your new reality.
