We have been spending our year talking about having hope especially through difficult times. God wants us to have hope when we experience our hardships. We have talked about having hope after failure, hope in trials, hope when life does not go according to plan, hope when feeling alone, hope when anxious, hope when hopeless, and hope when tempted. Today we are going to talk about having hope when health fails. The text where we will spend most of our time is in 2 Corinthians 5. Our focus will be on verse 5. “Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.”(CSB) Purpose statements are very important. Corporations have vision and purpose statement to make sure that they do not lose sight of why they exist. When God gives us purpose statements, we need to slow down and learn what God is saying so that we do not lose sight of why we exist.
