The Gospel of Matthew is a presentation to the reader that Jesus is the king we need to save us from our sins and bring us near to God. God wants to live with his people. In Matthew 1:23 we see that in Jesus God is now living with us. New life and new hope is available because God has not abandoned his desire to be with his people.
